32. Pressure forming and Twin-sheet-forming
Twin-sheet is also called "2 sheet forming" is a further development of the vacuum forming machine and presents an economical and resource saving process for production of precise and rigid hollow parts in nearly any geometry. To achieve this in one operation, two thermoplastic sheets are being heated and then welded into a hollow part simultaneously with the vacuum forming process. The welding area or points can be freely selected within the part. Even stronger material can be bonded together in an environmentally friendly way with our solvents and welding additives.
Besides, the true inventor of the Twin-sheet-technology is Mr Georg Geiss!
The pallet with the material can be used in the same way for the twinsheet process as it is during the standard thermoforming. In addition, the sheets can be of different thickness and can have different colours during the process. Different colour markings on the sheets may also provide advantages for logistic purposes.
The cycle times depend on the material thickness. Due to this process, additional variables such as heating, cooling, process and loading time have influence on the cycle time.
This option is available in 4 variations which are
· pneumatic (max. 70 kN),
· motorised (max. 200 kN),
· motorised boost (max. 320 kN),
· locked hydraulically (max. 2 MN).
more.
These options do not limit the capability of the machine and are suitable for processing single as well as two sheets.
