The BACIS 3D scanning arm is ideal when programs have to be generated frequently by teach-in, i.e. by scanning the restart points required for the NC program.
A CNC machine is generally too expensive to be used for teach-in instead of production, even when the possibilities of program generation by teach-in with the Sinumerik on the CNC machine are excellent and the machine is equipped with a suitable Teachbox.
