This axis is programmable independently from the other axis in its" Z path.  It allows the 5 axis machine to perform heavy 3 axis machining, for example in tool making to use the machine for the machining of models or to clamp a sawblade for the milling of bath tubs.

A trimming spindle GEISS ER 16 is fitted to the axis. Alternatively, all spindles and cutting knives can be fitted as stated under Option 5).

Please note:
When fitting this additional vertical axis, the working path of the X axis is reduced by 500mm as the additional axis requires this space.  If necessary, request  a machine Quotation No. with an increased X-axis size by 500 mm.
