High precision optical measuring device for automatic measuring of tool in operating area of the processing machine under operating conditions, i.e. rotating tool. The measuring device is also recommended for airbag weakening machines with rotating tools, for instance engraving tools.

The laser light barrier can capture the runout of the tool and the milling spindle. Furthermore, for example, defects of form of radius cutters in tool making can be determined.
