44. Clamping of B- and C-axis

In normal operation the rotary axes of the cutter head of a 5-axes machine are permanently position controlled and have therefore a certain amount of elasticity according to the KV factor of the control. 

This Option permits clutches to be installed into the rotary axes to clamp the axes in any desired position. The machine has thus the rigidity of a 3-axes machine.

This equipment is recommended if the machine is frequently used for 3-axes processing. The speed of the B axis is reduced due to a larger transmission ratio to 8.449 °/min and respectively to 7.528 °/min.
