Development of a new CNC machine, type "ECO" - presented at the K 2004 for the first time!

This newly developed machine type extends the GEISS range of CNC trimming centres. This new type of trimming machine is intended for light-duty applications and also for low budget investments. The axes attain feed speeds up to 75 m/min. The PC based control Sinumerik 840DI by Siemens provides as well all 5-axes functions of its "big brothers"; yet:

These machines are equipped with a GEISS spindle which has proven its reliability over many years. Both ends of the axes protrude which permits independent operation with two different tools. The spindle power is 6kW, the tool is clamped in an ER16 collect chuck. The spindle runs on sealed ceramic bearings which are lubricated for life. This spindle carries guarantee of 1000 operating hours against wear and tear – excluding operator errors. The speeds are freely programmable up to 30.000 rpm via CNC program. Attention: This machine requires an external cooling unit. 

The standard equipment also includes:

• complete vacuum equipment consisting of a vacuum pump 100 m³/h with vacuum valve, release valve and a pressure switch,
• closed safety enclosure with secured and locked sliding doors and PET windows,
• processing of large CNC programmes of hard disc or external drive,
• Look ahead function for automatic recognition of weak areas in the trimming contour and matching of feed over several CNC blocks,
• the standard machine colour is light-grey RAL 7035 with important machine parts being painted in light red-orange RAL 2008, doors colour is zinc-yellow RAL 1018.
