GEISS Glossary
Milling centre
A milling centre is a CNC-controlled machine tool designed specifically for complex milling operations. It typically features multiple axes and optionally an automatic tool changing system. This allows workpieces made of various materials – such as plastics, metals or composites – to be machined efficiently, precisely and with high repeatability.
Applications and benefits of a milling centre
Milling centres are mainly used in series production, in tool and mould making, as well as in the post-processing of thermoformed parts. Thanks to their versatility and CNC control, they enable highly precise machining even of complex contours and geometries, regardless of batch size.
We develop high-performance milling centres that stand out for their high machining speed, dimensional accuracy and flexible automation options.
