Ball screw

A ball screw is a spindle in which balls act as rolling elements between the screw and the nut. It enables particularly backlash-free, precise and efficient power transmission with minimal friction loss, making it ideal for CNC machines and applications requiring highly accurate linear motion. Compared with conventional rack-and-pinion drives, ball screws offer significantly higher positioning accuracy and a longer service life.

Typical applications of ball screws

Ball screws are used in particular in machine tools, CNC machining centres and other applications where precise motion sequences are critical. Thanks to their precise controllability and low friction, they make a major contribution to repeatability and process stability in automated manufacturing processes.
