Thermoforming processes
3 chamber thermoforming process
The so called 3K thermoforming process, also known as the 3K process or 3 chamber process, is based on specialized 3K equipment in which the machine table is equipped with two vacuum connections. In addition, the upper punch is equipped with vacuum and release functions.
With this equipment, components can be formed on the outer surface using the lower mould and on the inner surface using the upper mould. This process is used for stackable pallets and trays.
Typical applications of the 3K thermoforming process
The process is particularly suitable for products that require precise dimensions on both the inner and outer surfaces. A typical example is stackable pallets, where functional areas such as supports, ribs or grip recesses need to be precisely formed on both sides.
GEISS AG offers specially configured thermoforming machines with this option. The integrated compressed air functions in the machine table can be programmed and stored.
