Cross cutter
Function and applications of a cross cutter in manufacturing
Cross cutters enable the precise cutting of continuously fed materials – directly inline within the production process. Depending on the design, they operate with blades, rotating cutting tools or other cutting technologies. In GEISS AG’s automated systems, the cross cutter is equipped as standard with an integrated material transport system, such as the roller conveyor. This ensures continuous, precisely timed material feed and high cutting quality with maximum process reliability.
For further automation, the cross cutter can also be combined with an automatic stacking unit. The cut parts are stacked directly onto pallets and prepared for subsequent collection. This allows the material flow to be automated all the way through to the finished stack, further reducing manual effort in production.
